Week 3 NFL Game Picks
Week 2 of the 2020 NFL Season is in the books and it might have been one of the most traumatic weeks in NFL history. We lost stars all over the league, it has been a really rough week for fantasy players. Some of the players to go down this past week include Running Back Saquon Barkley with a torn ACL, San Francisco 49er’s Defensive End Nick Bosa with a torn ACL, Panthers Running Back Christian McCaffrey with a high ankle sprain, Broncos Quarterback Drew Lock sprained his AC joint in his shoulder and his star Wide Receiver Courtland Sutton will be out as well with a torn ACL. Just to be clear, these were only some of the league's most impactful injuries. There were plenty of others I could have mentioned.
Last week was a much better performance on my game predictions. I finished 10-6, but absolutely aced my lock of the week with the Las Vegas Raiders destroying the New Orleans Saints 34-24. Not only did I make the correct game prediction for the game, I had predicted the exact score as well. In Queen Sports Realm's Game Prediction series, week 2 was an improvement from the week 1 selections, but week 3 is in no way an easy task.
Thursday Night Football 8:20 on NFL Network
Miami Dolphins @ Jacksonville Jaguars (-2.5) Jaguars 31, Dolphins 24
Kicking off the week we have the Jags and the Dolphins. I like the Jaguars in this matchup. Minshew is playing extremely well this season. Minshew and this scrappy and tough Jaguars team is playing to contend this season regardless of the tank job the front office had tried to force.
Sunday 1 PM Games
Chicago Bears @ Atlanta Falcons (-3.5) Falcons 34, Bears 24
The Falcons offense has played extremely well this season, but their defense and coaching has let them down majorly. After a deflating loss to the Cowboys last week, I think the Falcons will bounce back and take down this tough Bears team. The pass attack from the Falcons has been elite so far this season.
Los Angeles Rams @ Buffalo Bills (-2.5) Rams 27, Bills 24
The Rams have turned many heads this season, beating two touch teams in the Cowboys and Eagles. The Bills too have played very well, however I think Goff is the better Quarterback and based on that fact I am going to roll with the Rams in what will be a close game. Rams win both game and spread.
Cincinnati Bengals @ Philadelphia Eagles (-6.5) Eagles 24, Bengals 16
Both these teams have been off to a bad start, however I think the Eagles have a more experienced locker room and are simply just the better team. If the Offensive Line can keep Wentz off the ground the Eagles will have a great chance at winning this game. I think the Eagles will rally and win this game by more than a touchdown.
Washington Football Team @ Cleveland Browns (-6.5) Browns 21, Football Team 17
After an improvement of a performance last week against the Bengals, the Browns should be able to take another game here against Washington. Baker played a lot better in comparison to his week one performance, and all is hoping he can build on that performance for this week three matchup. I think the Browns win, but Washington will keep it close enough for the Browns not to cover the spread.
Tennessee Titans @ Minnesota Vikings (+2.5) Titans 27, Vikings 20
The Titans have pulled out two close wins this season, relying on a good defense and great execution on offense. The Vikings have flopped majorly so far this season and I don’t see that ending in this matchup. The Titans should and will steamroll this Vikings team. I’ll take the Titans to win this matchup and cover the spread.
Las Vegas Raiders @ New England Patriots (-6.5) Raiders 31, Patriots 28
The Raiders have played very well this season, like I predicted. The offense has been powerful and efficient. Gruden has rounded up this young team and is beginning to win big games. This Patriots team is as well coached as any in the NFL, and it won't be easy. I think it will be a close game from start to finish with a lot of offense from both sides. In a shootout, I'll take the Las Vegas Raiders to win this game and to cover the spread.
San Francisco 49ers @ New York Giants (+4.5) 49ers 20, Giants 17
The 49er’s blew out the Jets last week even with the high number of injuries they had to deal with. Nick Mullens will be starting at QB for the 49er’s this week, and he will have the opportunity to sling the ball all over the field this week. The main reason why I am picking the 49ers in this game is because of the coaching of Kyle Shanahan and his staff. I'll take the 49ers in the win, but the Giants should be able to cover the spread.
Houston Texans @ Pittsburgh Steelers (-3.5) Steelers 27, Texans 23
The Texans are still trying to find their rhythm this season after a tough two first games of the year. I don’t think this week will be any easier either for the Texans. The Steelers are 2-0 to start this season, and have surprised me as to how good they actually can be. In this matchup, I’ll take the Steelers to win and to secure the spread in this one.
Sunday Games at 4:05 PM
New York Jets @ Indianapolis Colts (-10.5) Colts 27, Jets 17
The Colts surprised everyone last week with a domination performance over the Vikings. I think the Colts get an easy win this week against a poor Jets team that can’t catch a break. I’ll give the Colts the win, but they will not cover the spread. This will be the Queen City Lock of the Week!
Carolina Panthers @ Los Angeles Chargers (-7.5) Panthers 24, Chargers 17
The Panthers are a lot better than what Vegas is saying. They are a young team that possess many weapons. With McCaffrey out, I still think the Panthers will show up big time for this game and come home with a win. Teddy Bridgewater is still trying to find his way, and I think he will have a very good night against the Chargers. This is QSR’s (Queen Sports Realm’s) Upset Pick of the week.
Sunday Games at 4:25 PM
Dallas Cowboys @ Seattle Seahawks (-4.5) Seahawks 27, Cowboys 24
After last weeks amazing performance, Russell Wilson has become the NFL Favorite to win the MVP award. Wilson has been one of the best QB’s in the league for a while and he has clearly stepped up his game his season. Wilson now has full control of the offense and it is working out brilliantly. I’ll take Seattle to both win and cover the spread.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Denver Broncos (+5.5) Buccaneers 35, Broncos 17
This Tampa team still is struggling to be as fully functioning as one could have hoped. They look like the potential to be a high powered offense is there, but they need some major playing time to ensure that they are all on the same page. The Bucc’s defense however is a very elite unit. Jeff Driskel is starting this week in place of the injured Drew Lock, Bucc’s should make quick work of this team. Bucc's win big and easily cover the spread.
Detroit Lions @ Arizona Cardinals (-5.5) Cardinals 27, Lions 21
The Cardinals are a very scary team and it's time the NFL takes notice. The connection between Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins is something of pure magic. Murray has played extremely well and I expect this play to roll over into this week against the pitiful Lions. Cardinals win easy and cover the spread.
Sunday Night Football 8:20 on NBC
Green Bay Packers @ New Orleans Saints (-3.5) Packers 31, Saints 27
Aaron Rodgers has been a "bad man" this season, playing some of his best football. He is the only reason I will take the Packers over the Saints. His playmaking ability will be one that the NFL can’t keep up with. He is just as good as he ever has been. Packers win and cover the spread.
Monday Night Football 8:15 on ESPN
Kansas City Chiefs @ Baltimore Ravens (-3.5) Ravens 34, Chiefs 24
This is by far the game of the week that everyone is looking forward to watching. These are by far the best teams in the NFL and we shall see them face off head to head. In this matchup I am going to roll with the Ravens. Mahomes has been forced to play hero ball and he won't be able to do that against this Ravens defense. Give me the Ravens and the spread.
