World Soccer Star Lionel Messi

During this transfer season which started July 27th, there have been many rumors flying around regarding the frequent frustration Lionel Messi has had with the front office of Barcelona. After their humiliating 8-2 loss to current UEFA Champion League Champions Bayern Munich, Messi was extremely discontent with the lack of structure and investment within the club. His frustration was obvious to see just watching him play.

Newly hired Coach and former Barcelona star defender Ronald Koeman has taken over the team and has declared the need to overhaul most of the roster including star players Luis Suarez, Arturo Vidal, Ivan Rakitic and Samuel Umtiti.

This was the first winless season for Barcelona in 12 years. First losing to Real Madrid in La Liga and then being crushed by Bayern in the Champions League Quarter Finals. Some may look to blame the pandemic for the horrific year. However, this storm between Messi and Club President Josep Bartomeu has been brewing for a while. Many might not have noticed it because of the endless winning seasons. For winning can cover up a bountiful ammount of flaws within an organization. Their major reason for their endless success has been Messi.

The only way a team can claim Lionel Messi is by forking up 700 Million Euros (828 Million USD) to Barcelona. All be it a hard price to pay, many teams should be taking a good look into it. Messi is a once in a lifetime talent, and even at the age of 33 he has at least three more years of top tier talent left within him. Only question is what club will be willing to to sign the massive transfer transaction.

Messi's circle has publicly released that he would love reunite with former Barcelona Coach Pep Guardiola in Manchester City. If I was running Manchester City, I would make this move in a heartbeat. In order to get back on top of the English Premier League, the most competitive league, Manchester City shouldn't hesitate to add an elite forward in Lionel Messi .

With super star players Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling along with Argentine teammates Nicholas Otamendi and Sergio Aguero. Messi would be a great addition to the club which already has a solid foundation with good chemistry. You would be able to plop Messi right in at either the forward of winger positions.

However, let's not let our imagination wonder off too far just yet. If Barcelona is able put together a poised and more talented squad that can play to Messi's strengths, I can absolutely see Messi staying around for another few years. They still have stars in forwards Antoine Griezmann, Ousmane Dembele, Ansu Fati, midfeilder Sergio Busquets, defenders Gerard Pique and Jordi Alba. And last but not least one of the best keepers in the world Marc-Andre Ter Stergen.

With coming moves in the transfer window, Barcelona could remain a very formidable and tempting squad to return to for Messi in 2020. For now we can only speculate weather Messi really will leave his only club in Barcelona.

As an enthusiastic Lionel Messi fan I will not fault him for leaving, for he has been extremely loyal and productive for so many years at Barcelona. Perhaps its for the best that they both get a clean slate for this upcoming season.
